(1) light, a light, Psa 90:8 used of the sun and moon, Gen 1:14, 16 Psa 74:16. As to its difference from אֹור see under that word. מְנֹורַת־הַמָּאֹור the holy candlestick, Num 4:9, 16 . Metaph. מְאֹור עֵינַיִם the light of the eyes, i.e. bright, cheerful eyes. Pro 15:30.
