In his place: Instead of al omdo, "in his place," the parallel passage, 2Ki 23:3, has al haammood, "by the pillar;" which is probably the true reading, as the LXX in both places read τον στυλον, "the pillar." 2Ch 6:13, 2Ki 11:4, 2Ki 23:3, Eze 46:2

1. In general, to walk after Jehovah; to have no gods beside him.

2. To take this law for the regulation of their conduct.
